According to government sources in India 45 children die every hour due to respiratory diseases. One child dies every 2 minutes due to diarrhea and annually about 2 million children under 5 years old age die due to preventable diseases. The situation calls for timely care and measures which can reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality especially among children and women.
Health awareness camps organized in Vinod nagar (East Delhi), Dwarka and Nangal Raya (West Delhi) for health needs of a Specific location. These health camps aim at promoting health seeking behavior in the long term and thus unlike a general curative health camp. These camps also majorly work on building awareness regarding common ailments family planning methods, nutrition and hygiene and sanitation. These camps provide comprehensive health services free ol' any cost. These health camps are organized with support from the individual doctors, NGOs and individual volunteers. Navratan Foundation has conducted 5 general health camps in this year and has benefited more than 5. 000 people directly. Navratan Foundation has organized free camps at various locations in slums in Delhi over last 12 months. We have empanelment of qualified MBBS, MD and gynecologist doctors on our rolls. The camps have become very popular. On an average we treat about 60 patients in our camp. They are given free medicines, free consultation & counseling besides discounted diagnostics with various centers.
We have joined hands with Institute Human Behavior and Allied Sciences and through this association organize Mental health camps. Our volunteers work with doctors and we have been running successful camps over last l year. The programs extend medical and health care support to poor and needy population residing in slums. JJ clusters and rural areas who cannot afford otherwise. Under the initiative, a series of health camps would be organized in slums of Delhi in coming years.
Navratan foundation organized a health awareness camp on 15th of october 2012.
Purpose of such camp was to make people aware about the mental or neurological problems occurring now a days due to tension and hectic schedule in today´s time.
